Friendship in war
Not sure precisely what is going on here. The dutch girl and the soldier on the tank seem to be hitting it off…

The poem at the bottom puzzles me;
HEY BILL, THAT DUTCH GIRL SMILED AT ME
PERHAPS SHE’LL ASK ME HOME TO TEA.
THE FIRST TIME THAT I SAW YOU SID,
I SMILED, JUST LIKE THAT DUTCH GIRL DID.
I gather that he is writing to Bill, so who is Sid? The guy inside the tank? He seems deliriously happy. Maybe he is glad to be in a relatively peaceful place.
P.S. How did the girl get that contraption around her neck?
