The toast window

  We had Eggo waffles this morning, it occurred to me that when using a toaster, there is only a small window of time between “It’s not done yet” and “It’s burned!”

Sometimes if it’s barely in the “burned” window, a person can scrape it off and eat it anyway. That depends on how hungry you are.

I find white bread toast to be the worst about burning beyond the edible range. Surprisingly, Eggo waffles are somewhat forgiving, if you don’t insist on them turning brown. You have to get the margarine on them FAST before they get cold, that’s the trick with those. YMMV
