Urban Coyote sounds like a poorly maintained box truck

There is a field behind our house, recently there is a new member of the coyote family, or maybe they are becoming urbanized? Instead of howling, one of them sounds like a box truck with really worn out brakes (down to the metal) repeatedly stopping with a screeching noise. At first I thought our neighbors were moving in the middle of the night?

Maybe the coyotes are short of roadrunner meat? I don’t know, but it is VERY annoying.
