Do the math on your phone bill

I found this old GTE promo from probably 1990 or so? Back then we had a “land line” so had to pay for the basic service, and maybe Caller ID, answering service, etc. PLUS another bill for “Long Distance”

The local calling area was pretty much anybody in walking distance, everything else was long distance, plus I think out of state long distance, and international calls. It added up.

Then again… Our bill was usually $70 or so total, googling a cost of living calculator, now it would be $156+. So I guess I will quit retroactively whining now.
