Smoking is a bad bet

Back when we got paper checks on payday, we would play a poker game similar to this, based on the check’s serial number and amount. Or something like that. When the eagle flies, everybody gets happy.

These poker-hand matches seem innocent enough, but I am not sure if I would want to gamble on it. Some rain man might examine each match and work out the odds in his favor.
