New Mexico Land Grab

These half acre lots, even back in the 40’s and 50’s, seem like a good deal, with clean water, fresh air, road access… all for $199. I don’t know why these weren’t snatched up, but even today you can buy one of these “Deming Ranchettes” for $1000. I looked it up on Zillow, and looked at the Deming Headlight, (The local newspaper).

I was thinking of putting a trailer out there so we can go south for the winter, but it looks kind of boring. You would think the artsy folks from nearby Tucson, AZ would have set up house on these cheap lots.
