I got this abacus when I was collecting brass objects for some long forgotten project idea. I was thinking of learning to use it in case I ever need to do a deal in some remote corner of the Gobi Desert.
So of course I looked at some abacus instructional videos on our old friend YouTube. It looks like you need some dexterity to use one of these abacuses (Abacii?) Which I don’t have in the first place, plus this tiny brass thing does not help. I think this would put me in a poor bargaining position and earn me the scorn of the desert merchants.
