This matchbook must be from the 20’s or 30’s, the heyday of the New Jersey Athletic Club; after that it was a hotel, the club went kaput because of changing demographics. I wonder if some of their 3000 plus members got a workout on these stairs.
It had about 300 basic rental rooms, back then the toilet and showers were probably down the hall. People weren’t so particular.
