Here’s a matchbook from the Checker Cab people driving in Burlington, Vermont and thereabouts. I don’t know what the economics of using vehicles from Checker motors. They were made for decades up to 1982, yet cabbies still drive them today in some places, so parts must still be available.
In fact, I had heard that they were going to start making them again, but doubt it because today’s vehicles require so many safety and environmental features, how would it work with these yellow tanks? Just sell the last nice one to Jay Leno, and be done with it.
